The Tiguan is a mid-size sport SUV manufactured by Volkswagen. It was introduced in 2007. The first generation Tiguan was built on the Passat platform. The name Tiguan is a blend of the words tiger and leguan which means iguana. The name was chosen as a result of a contest for Auto Bild, a German car magazine. The 2019 Tiguan is part of the second generation of Tiguans to be produced since its creation.

Bold, sculpted lines give the Tiguan a strong, sophisticated appearance. LED headlights and taillights provide practical beauty to the Tiguan. An available Adaptive Front-lighting system moves with the turn of the car to keep the way ahead visible. The LED taillights are long lasting as well as efficient and attractive. An available panoramic sunroof allows light to permeate the interior along with sights from the outside world. The interior is roomy with modern style and multiple color options. One available material for seats is the V-Tex leatherette fabric that allows for style as well as comfort. The Tiguan is available as a five-seat model or with a third row that allows seating for up to seven. When the seats are folded down, you have approximately 73.5 cubic feet of cargo space to use for hauling life’s necessities. Accessing the cargo space is made easier with the available hands-free Easy Open and Easy Close liftgate. The easy open feature allows you to kick your foot under the bumper, with the key fob in your pocket or bag, to open the liftgate. For Easy Close, you simply walk away from the car and it will automatically close. For ease of loading cargo, you can lower the back seats using a lever in the cargo area. Another available feature that makes accessing the cargo area easier is a remote control that will open the hatch. Available heated steering wheel and dual-zone climate control help to keep you comfortable regardless of outside temperature. The steering wheel also gives you control over your music right at your fingertips.
2019 Tiguan VW Performance
The Tiguan is designed to perform on paved surfaces as well as on rougher terrain. An available 4MOTION all-wheel drive system helps maintain traction and stability by dispersing power to the front or rear wheels as necessary. Four selectable drive modes, Snow Mode, On-Road Mode, Off-Road Mode and Off-Road Custom Mode, allow you to have more driver control over the traction of the car. The 184 horsepower 2.0 liter TSI engine is turbocharged for fuel efficiency and fun. The turbocharged engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Placing the car in Tiptronic mode allows you to have more control by allowing you to manually shift the transmission.
