The 2020 Tiguan has a 184 horsepower 2.0 liter turbo-charged engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission with sport mode. An available 4Motion all-wheel drive feature helps maintain traction on a variety of surfaces by appropriately distributing power between the wheels. The four modes available with 4Motion all-wheel drive are snow, on-road, off-road and off-road custom. For normal travel, on-road is the mode to choose. The snow mode allows the vehicle to shift sooner which keeps RPM rates lower and helps to maintain traction on slick surfaces. Off-road mode is for rocky or hilly roads. If the incline is steep, this mode will help to activate the Hill Descent Control feature to help keep speeds at a safer level as the car moves downhill. Off-road custom lets you set your preference for all-wheel drive options and steering capabilities.
Technology
From driver assistance features to touchscreen audio systems, the 2020 Tiguan is loaded with technology. Driver assistance features like blind spot monitoring and pedestrian monitoring are designed to help you avoid potential accidents on the road. Adaptive cruise control helps you to maintain a set speed while driving. The park distance control feature helps you to maneuver into and out of parking spaces by giving you a visual representation of how close you are to objects behind you. In addition to driver assistance features, the Tiguan features a digital cockpit that allows instrument and system preferences to be saved for up to four drivers. There is an available full navigation view that allows you to see more of the map as you drive. The VW Car-Net hotspot capability allows passengers in the car the ability to connect up to four devices to wi-fi. Charging your device in the car is now easier if your device is compatible with the Tiguan’s wireless charging capabilities. An eight inch touchscreen gives you control over the Fender audio system that features nine speakers and a 480 watt amp.
