As one of the most recognizable vehicles in the history of automobiles, the Volkswagen Beetle has come a long way from its humble beginnings in 1938. Originally designed to be a two door, rear engine economy car, the original Bug was intended for 5 occupants.

Fast forward to 2019 and we have the newly redesigned version of the A5 model New Beetle (originally launched in 2002). The New Beetle brought back the classic styling of the traditional Beetle, but with a modern design and the latest technology.

The 2019 Beetle Convertible was offered in four distinct trim level to allow for customers to choose from many different levels of options to get just what they want out of their new Beetle. Today, we are going to look at each level and what features are included on each. Each trim level will feature the same great engine and transmission combo that will achieve an estimated 26 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway.

S

Starting things off with the most affordable Beetle, we have the base level, also known as the S trim level, which will feature all of the standard issue options that will be found on each trim level if not improved on. This trim level will feature 16″ 10 spoke alloy wheels, heated front seats, sport designed front and rear bumpers, a rear spoiler, heated windshield wiper nozzles, heated side mirrors, exterior color-matched side sills & color matched side mirrors. You will also benefit from V-Tex leatherette seats, heated front seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, rear view camera system, Bluetooth technology, Composition Color 5″ touchscreen sound system, and blind spot monitoring.

Final Edition SE

Stepping up to the next trim level, the Final Edition SE, you will still get all of the great features as the base model, but with some additional upgrades to make your driving experience more pleasurable. For the exterior, there were not to many new changes, but you will notice automatic headlights and new 17″ 10 spoke alloy wheels that really change the look of the car. In the interior, you will get Volkswagen Car-Net App-Connect, gloss black accents, and Climatronic dual zone automatic climate control.

SE

The next trim level is going to be the 2019 Beetle Convertible SE which is similar to the Final Edition, but right off the bat, you will notice key differences such as the many new exterior color options. The SE features 6 new color combinations for the exterior, giving you new ways to customize your Beetle. You can also take advantage of available fog lights, LED tail lights, and other LED lighting with the premium package on the SE.

Final Edition SEL

The final trim level offered on the 2019 Beetle Convertible is the Final Edition SEL. This trim level, like the trim levels before it, will include all of the features as the SE, if not upgraded, along with many new features. The most standout features include a 6.3” touchscreen navigation system, leather seats with diamond stitched design, and 18” disc white alloy wheels.
